News Live at 6:00 Awarded Best Regularly Scheduled Local Newscast

During the annual New York State Associated Press Association awards banquet on June 4th in Saratoga Springs, NY, CitrusTV’s News Live at 6:00 was awarded a first place finish in the category of Best Regularly Scheduled Local Newscast in the college division. The award was given for breaking news reporting following an Orange Alert being issued on the SU campus.

Said AP Association judges of the broadcast: “Solid live reporting, [and] especially good live Q&A with reporters. [A] great service to students with important information.” The broadcast competed against other colleges in New York state for the honor.

In addition to the News Live at 6:00 program’s award, CitrusTV investigative reporter Rob Romano also took home a First Amendment Award for an investigative piece titled “Not Enough Soundproofing Throughout SU’s 1890’s Music School” which focused on the facilities that music students use inside Crouse College.
