Hello all current and former CitrusTV members,
It is with deep regret that we share with you that the CitrusTV 50th Anniversary Alumni weekend and Banquet set for April 3-5th, 2020 has been postponed until Fall 2020.
While we were hoping to receive more information regarding COVID-19 in the United States and Syracuse University’s response, the CDC is currently recommending all events with more than 50 people attending be canceled or postponed indefinitely.
As much as we were all looking forward to this event, our members and alumni’s health and safety have to come first. It would be irresponsible of us to bring together the over 150 current and former members that would be in attendance.
We understand that this is very disappointing for many of you, including first-years who were looking forward to their first banquet, seniors who would have been attending their last, and alumni who were excited to come back to visit CitrusTV for its 50th anniversary. Know that we are all here for you during this frustrating and stressful time.
Please note that Amber and I, along with the rest of the Executive Staff are working hard to put together an event in the Fall, in similar nature to that of Banquet and Alumni weekend. We want to ensure the station and its members get the recognition they deserve for our 50th year.
At this time you likely have many questions. We have put together a Q&A section below. If any of your questions remain unanswered please do not hesitate to contact us. Stay safe, and stay healthy.
What about awards?
We will send out the winners of all the awards on April 4th, 2020. This list will be sent out via email and posted on CitrusTV.com. We are awaiting more information about campus operations. Once we have physical possession of Trophies/Plaques we will find a way of getting them to the winners. Seniors receiving an award can expect that their award will be mailed to them.
What if I already spent money on travel/hotel booking?
If you have already spent money on travel or booking a hotel to attend banquet please contact the company you purchased travel or the hotel you booked from first. If they are unable to reimburse you, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate requests for reimbursement.
Will there be a 50th banquet?
Yes! We are working to set a date for an alumni weekend and banquet in the fall. Please stay tuned for more details.
Will I be reimbursed if I already registered?
Yes 100%! Anyone who has already paid to attend banquet will receive a full refund.
I’m sad I didn’t get to attend my first/last/return to banquet.
