Class Registration is Open for Fall 2021

By Zach Richter

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In-person classes and exams are set to resume this fall, something most students haven’t seen since March 2020. While some students said they are eagerly awaiting the return of in-person classes, many are worried about the transition back to normal.

Freshman Caroline Stevenson said she looks forward to the return.

“I think it’s going to be weird going from having most of my classes online to in-person,” Stevenson said. “But, I think if you’re going to be on campus, you might as well be in person.”

Still, freshman Mackenzie Schena said the reappearance of in-person exams makes her uneasy.

“I’m nervous for tests and stuff because I feel like online tests are much easier,” Schena said. “In-person tests you’re going to have to actually study and know everything.”

For many sophomores, next semester will mark their first experience in Syracuse University’s large lecture halls.

Student Nikki Smith said she thinks that though these large classes pose a danger with COVID-19, she is hopeful the university will make them happen.

“It’s definitely a risk with COVID, but I feel like a lot of people will have the vaccine hopefully,” Smith said.

Registration for the fall 2021 semester began April 22 and will continue throughout next week.
