SU Students Begin Searching for Off-Campus Housing

By Zach Richter

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Even though it is only a month into the school year, off campus housing is going quickly. For example, Park Point, one of the most popular locations by students every year is already completely sold out for next school year.

When asked where he was living for next year SU Student Noah Weiss said, “I don’t know the uncertainty is a little stressful. Everyone knows how quickly the leases at some of the off-campus apartments go, just have been trying to figure that out.”

Sophomore Vir Batra said he “is looking to the bigger houses which are not too far away from campus. We haven’t really quite started looking, a lot of people have which kind of stresses me out.”

Local Syracuse landlord Rent from Ben said, “We’re already 70% done. I’ve only got 30 places left out of 115 that I started with to rent for next year.”

Ben also said that another important part of the process is to find roommates who are dedicated to living together and starting the process.
