Boston College’s 36 point lead is too much for Syracuse Women’s Basketball to overcome

A 36-point deficit was too much for Syracuse to overcome as they feel to Boston College 91-75. The game was a tale of two halves as the first half was all Eagles and the second half was all Orange. Acting Head Coach Vonn Read and the player had a lot to say about the momentum they gained in the second half.

“Once we were able to start scoring, then our press was able to be effective. We weren’t able to get into our press at all. We were taking the ball out of the basket because they were scoring. We weren’t able to press them in the first half. Once we were able to make some shots, I thought we got some energy. I thought Teisha and Chrislyn did a really good job at the top of the press of turning up the pressure against them. They’re both very good on the ball defenders, so they go the chance to do that. We were able to rotate up and get some steals, so I thought us being able to make some baskets and get into the press helped us.” Coach Read said after the game.

“Once we get our momentum, it’s kind of hard to stop us. Our struggle lately has been getting the momentum. Once we’re there, call for backup.” Teisha Hyman said after totaling a team high 22 points and six steals against the Eagles.

Today was the final day of the regular season. It was also senior day and the team honored Chrislyn Carr, Christianna Carr, Jayla Thornton, Alaysia Styles, and Naje Murray with a beautiful pre-game ceremony. The Orange finish the regular season with an 11-17 overall record and a 4-14 record in ACC play. Their next game will come in the opening round of the ACC tournament.
