Syracuse Battles Through Adversity to Clinch 4-3 Win Over Louisville

Andrew Selover: “Syracuse and Louisvillle entered Friday’s duel ranked the bottom two teams in the ACC standings. The Orange were without #1 singles player Viktoriya Kanapatskaya and had to forfeit a doubles and a singles match due to her absence. SU was still able to emerge victorious four to three with freshman Miyuak Kimoto clinching the win here on singles court number two in three sets. Head coach Younes Limam came away from the win immensely proud in Kimoto and his entire squad.”

Younes Limam: “It’s a tough task to be the last court on and your duel match depends on that. I think she handled it as a champ. I think we had a lot of adversity in front of us today, and I couldn’t be prouder of how we just went out there and we battled and we played for our teaammates that weren’t here today and just really showed a lot of grit, a lot of focus, a lot of passion, and it’s great to come on top today.”

Andrew Selover: “With this afternoon’s win, Syracuse moved back to .500 on the season at 8-8. SU has a chance at its first conference winning streak of the season back here at Drumlins on Sunday against Notre Dame. First serve between the Orange and the Irish is scheduled for 11am.
