Miles Robinson named NSCAA First Team All-American

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has named Syracuse sophomore defender Miles Robinson to the All-American First Team. Robinson becomes SU’s first player named to the All-American First Team since goalkeeper Alex Bono in 2014.

Robinson started in all 17 matches that he played in and was part of a Syracuse defense that held 10 clean sheets this season. The defender was no slouch on the offensive side of the pitch, recording 4 goals and an assist this season.

As well as being named a First Team All-American, Robinson has also been named to the All-ACC First Team and the ACC Defender of the Year. The defender was also named as a semifinalist for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the nation’s best college soccer player.

Robinson has also been called up to the USA Under-20 Men’s Soccer National Team multiple times. He will participate with the under-20 squad against the Costa Rica Under-20 Team on December 17th and 19th.

Robinson and the Orange went 12-4-4 during the 2016 regular season. Syracuse was the 8-seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third straight season.
