Syracuse’s Season Ends With Two Losses to California on Saturday
Syracuse softball had hopes of being on the field playing in the ACC tournament. however this season the Orange must settle for being spectators Syracuse lost both games of a Saturday double header to Cal by scores of 9 to nothing and 4-2 and with the two defeats SU will miss out on the ACC tourney.
“You know I asked this team like we’re going to go down it’s not going to be without a fight and I think that that was the fight that we wanted to see all weekend so you know it sucks and take it on the chin and um it’s never fun but you know at the end of the day you know tip your hat to cow they just beat us.”
Today marks an abrupt end to the road for SU seniors whose careers were filled with ups and downs however they still have an immense amount of gratitude for all that their time in Orange brought them.
“You know they showed up every day they showed up every day and they wanted to get 1% better every day and like that obviously shows a lot for like our freshman that we had now we had a big class of freshman and they taught them you know how to just come to practice no matter what if you’re having a good day good day or bad day it doesn’t matter we were here at the softball field and that was all that was our main focus once you stepped onto the field all you thought about was softball”
“I mean and it just sucks right like nobody wants to end their career here right um you know but they uh they really have been the foundation of this program so super super appreciative for those guys”
