Live at 6 | Prominent Women In The Media To Speak At Hendricks

By Nicole DeMentri – Syracuse, N.Y. (CitrusTV) – Syracuse University not only saw one, but two leading women in the media industry.

MSNBC host and political commentator Joy Ann Reid spoke through the University Lecture series. Sports analyst and former SportsCenter co-anchor Jemele Hill also spoke on campus on behalf of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s “Truth Be Told” forum.

Reid spoke on her views in the political arena, as well as gender and race issues in Hendricks auditorium.  Aside from her day job, Reid is also notably an adjunct professor through Newhouse NYC teaching the Race, Gender and the Media class.  She has been on faculty for three semesters.

Hill spoke similarly in topic except in the sports realm.  She took to the stage in front of a packed Goldstein Auditorium around the same time as Reid.  In January, Hill left her position with ESPN.  Her comments about President Trump a few weeks prior came under intense scrutiny.

This is both the first time the two have come to campus to speak.
