Live at 6 | Bandersnatch Concert Series

By Landon Wexler – Syracuse, N.Y. (CitrusTV) – University Union’s Bandersnatch headliner, Whitney, performed two brand new songs in an intimate concert experience in Syracuse Universsity’s Goldstein Auditorium.

Band member’s Max Kakacek and Julien Ehlrich performed two brand new songs they had mentioned they had been recently working on in-studio in New York City just days before coming to Syracuse.

In an interview with the Whitney, Kakacek mentioned that they had been planning on performing the brand-new songs to get a feel for how a college-age audience would react.

Lead singer Ehlrich capitalized on the opportunity of performing in front of smaller audience and told the crowd, he was going to take off his shoes.  He took off his shoes and he and his bandmate Max began playing their set.

“I felt like I was watching them perform in Whitney’s living room,” said one audience member.

While a performer removing their shoes may be an unorthodox method to make an audience feel comfortable, it worked. The organizers’ goal was to create a unique concert experience one can’t get anywhere else.  University Union President Jonah Rappaport and other UU members were excited they could count on Whitney to bring that experience.

Bands SALES and SU’s own Charlie Burg also came together for Syracuse University’s biannual Bandersnatch event.  University Union is also responsible for organizing other SU events like Juice Jam, Block Party and Mayfest.
