Newhouse in DC Program | News Live at 6

By Katie Fongvongsa

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications kicked off a new Washington D.C. semester program. The program is open for students to apply for Fall of 2022.

When in Washington D.C., students are eligible to apply for internships they find fit. In comparison to the programs in New York City and Los Angeles, this one would be geared toward media-based broadcasting majors. Students will also have more opportunities to work in political reporting.

Housing for students will not be provided, but resources and points of contact will be given to those who are admitted.

“Students come back more mature and professors see much more professionalism in their work,”  Associate Director of Off-Campus Programs Shelly Griffin said.

The information session was held last night in Newhouse 1. For more information, students may contact Griffin by email, phone or drop-in hours.
