Otto’s Army Prepares for the Clemson Game

By John Perik

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Tomorrow night, the Syracuse Orange (3-3) will host the Clemson Tigers (3-2) in the Carrier Dome. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm on ESPN.

On the field, the Orange have struggled late in games this season, but off the field their student section has done its job. Making the Carrier Dome a dreadful venue for opponents to visit.

Leading the student section is Jonathan Danilich, the senior advisor for Otto’s Army. Danilich said he is extremely excited for tomorrow’s game, and even though he is an SU super fan, he’s genuinely confident the Orange can come out with a victory. With game day less than 24 hours away, Danilich shared what students should expect from the game.

“We have shirts for the first 1,500 students that come into the dome,” Danilich said. “But we really want to stress the point that you need to get to the Dome early tomorrow because you will miss kickoff if you don’t.”

With the matchup approaching, Danilich is reminded of SU’s unforgettable upset victory against Clemson in 2017. A night that saw a packed and jubilated Dome crowd storm the field in celebration.

Only fate knows whether that exact scene will play out tomorrow, but Danilich and the rest of Otto’s Army certainly hope it does.

“In a perfect world I see tomorrow night ending with me on the field,” Danilich said. “If it goes well, we win, and we celebrate on the field with the team.”

Danilich also said he wants students to wear orange tomorrow for an orange out.
