SYRACUSE, N.Y.— Syracuse University began “Operation Orange Warmup” to help keep students and community members warm during the cold Syracuse winter.
Operation Orange Warmup aims to provide members of the community with items like coats, gloves, scarves and boots, and they’re asking the community for help in their mission.
Student and community volunteers will be collecting these items on Jan. 18 at the Syracuse versus Florida State basketball game. Nine of the gates will be accepting new and clean, nearly new items for donations.
Madi Messare, an SU student, said she will be ready to accept the items Syracuse fans bring with them to the game.
“Even though you are donating just one item, it will make a significant impact and we can help the community here at Syracuse,” Messare said.
If you are unable to attend the game you can donate from Jan. 17 until Jan. 21 outside of Hendricks chapel between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
