Stanford, Calif. – Five of the six Syracuse runners who competed at the Stanford Invitational set personal best times in their respective races on Friday.

This meet marked the season outdoor debuts for all six runners.

Joe Dragon (28:34.09) and JP Trojan (28:35.16) finished in 14th and 16th place in the Men’s 10,000m Invite Run. The section, which has historically featured some of the strongest fields in the country for distance runners, saw the two SU seniors compete against both collegiate and professional athletes.

In section 2 of the Men’s 10,000m Run, Matthew Scrape (29:07.86) finished in 9th place. The junior set a personal best with that time as well.

Abigail Spears (34:17.86) set a personal record in the Women’s 10,000m Section 2 Run. Spears finished in fifth place.

Nathan Henderson (13:44.65) set a new PR in section 2 of the Men’s 5000m Run, placing him in 6th place. The senior shaved four seconds off his personal best.

Annie Boos, the lone SU runner who didn’t set a PR, came 0.3 seconds away from her personal record in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Invite. The Cal transfer’s time was good enough for fourth place and set a new Syracuse best for her.

The Orange head down to Coral Gables next weekend to participate in the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
