Syracuse Volleyball fell in straight sets to 8th-ranked Pittsburgh. The Orange finished their ACC road trip 0-4 with only one set won

SU started the match slowly falling behind 7-3. However, the Orange responded by cutting the deficit to one. Unfortunately for Syracuse, it was PITT from that point. The Panthers extended their lead to take the first set 25-15. PITT was very efficient on offense, posting a kill percentage of 60%.

The second set was very similar to the first. SU fell behind early before batting to get back to level. But once again, it wasn’t enough. The Panthers would go on a 10-4 run to put themselves in a commanding position. PITT would make no mistake from there, taking the second set 25-18. The Panthers played very well throughout the set only committing four errors.

The third set was all Panthers from start to finish. PITT quickly grabbed a nine-point lead and never looked back. Before the Orange could look, the Panthers closed out the set 25-6 to wrap up the match. PITT dominated, only committing one error in the frame.

For Syracuse, Cherlin Antonio led the team with 9 kills and 12.5 points. The Orange fall to 2-12 on the season and 0-4 in ACC play. They will be back at home on Friday against Virginia Tech. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.
