Syracuse Tennis loses 4-0 to Miami

MIAMI, F.L.. – Syracuse Tennis (6-9, 2-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference) began its last road stretch against #28 Miami (11-4, 6-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference) this afternoon.
Doubles did not go the way of the Orange. SU’s No. 1 doubles pairing Anastasia Sysoeva and Nelly Knezkova fell 6-2 to Miami’s Gonzalez and Scilipoti. SU won a match back with Emma Scaldalai and Leena Bennetto winning 6-4. The Orange fell in the deciding match with Shastova and Wojcik falling in a 6-6 tiebreaker (7-2).
Two ‘Cuse players won the opening set of singles: Sysoeva and Scaldalai. Wojcik was swept 6-0, 6-1 and Levivier suffered the same to give Miami two more points. Bennetto and Shastova also dropped their first sets.
In set two, Wojcik and Levivier wrapped up relatively fast. The Canes last point needed was secured by an Arai win over Leena Bennetto 6-4, 6-1 and Miami defeated Syracuse 4-0.
No third sets were played in the duel.
