After losing both games 1 and 2 by just one run, you could see that Syracuse softball was on the verge of turning its four game losing skid around. Well on Sunday, The orange did just that with an absolute slashing of Boston College 10-1.

Just as it was in the first games of the series, the offense was quiet in the first couple of frames. However in the bottom of the third, BC’s catcher Hannah Slike smashed her sixth hit of the series off of the scoreboard in left field and gave the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.

After that though, it was all SU. The orange put up a four spot in the fourth, large in part to BC’s three errors. The Eagles would tally 5 errors on the day.

The Orange batted around in the fourth which means the recipe that brought them success would continue in the fifth. Syarcsue put up another three runs thanks to Angel Jasso. The Senior tallied a program single season best 6th triple. Jasso leads the nation with triples on the year.

The Orange would slow down in the sixth only adding one more due to the Orange walking a couple more times. In the seventh though, SU put the icing on the cake. SU’s leader in extra base hits snuck her 10th home run over the center field wall to put the Orange up nine and prevent a season sweep from BC.

Boston College left 11 different batters on base large in part to SU’s excellent pitching. Lindsey Hendrix pitched out of 2 separate occasions with one out and runners in scoring position. Julianna Verni worked out of a bases loaded situation in her first inning of work.

The win puts the moment in Syracuse’s favor as SU gets its first home game of the season on Thursday against Georgia Tech. The Orange haven’t played the Yellow Jackets at home since 2016.
