Syracuse women’s basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack spent 10 years transforming Buffalo into one of the MAC’s perennial powers, leading the Bulls to four NCAA Tournaments, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2018. Before returning to her alma mater, she led three Division I programs to a total of 13 winning seasons, including six 20-win seasons during her career.

On Sunday, Syracuse upset Louisville for its 20th victory of the season, coach Legette-Jack’s second 20-win season in her second year with the team.

In her first year as head coach, Legette-Jack re-established SU’s reputation. The Orange concluded the season with the most victories by a coach in their first year leading the team. They nearly missed out on the NCAA Tournament after doubling their ACC wins from the previous season.

Moving forward to 2024, FLJ has already surpassed the 20-win threshold in mid-February, whereas last year it took till late March. Following the accomplishment on Sunday, FLJ felt thrilled for her team and grateful for the opportunity with this program.

“I am so blessed and lucky to be a part of this institution,” she said. “I want to fight everyday to make everyone that’s connected to this University proud.”

Despite being picked to finish 9th in the ACC Preseason Poll, SU cracked the top-20 in the AP Top-25 poll yesterday for the first time this season. The Orange rose four spots to No. 19, which is the highest ranking the team has had since Legette-Jack became head coach.

Syracuse travels to Coral Gables on Thursday to face Miami.
