#1 Syracuse rolls past #19 Clemson, 19-10 to stay undefeated

50 degrees and a slight breeze. Those are the kind of conditions that Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse played in today at CNS High School, the first home game away from the JMA Wireless Dome. Syracuse defeated No. 19 Clemson, 19 – 10, today. Olivia Adamson had a career high seven points, but had a priceless reaction to her performance in the Draw circle.
Adamson: “Really, no way. That’s awesome. I was just seeing the Ball well. My teammates are doing a great job boxing, but I wouldn’t be able to get 14 without such great circle play, that was awesome.”
This game wasn’t the first time this season where Syracuse held a ranked opponent to ten points or less. The Orange end off the year with UNC and BC, two matchups that goalie Delaney Sweitzer says have been on the team’s mind for quite some time.
Sweitzer: “I think we’ve been preparing for games like that the entire year and we have a lot of time to prepare for these games. We’re really pumped up for those two games. I know we’ve had them circled on our schedule, so we’re just going to keep bringing it every day of practice.”
Coach Treanor: “We’ve been just focused on where we’re at and being very present, but we’re excited to get to work this week to beat a really good North Carolina team.”
Syracuse is perfect against ranked opponents and now have the chance to go defeat the team that they dethroned from number one. The orange travel down to Chapel Hill a week from today to take on the No. 5 Tar heels, in what earlier in the season people were predicting to be the matchup of the year. Game time for that game is at 12 p.m.
