#4 Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse Beats Duke 15-8

Coming into the 2024 season. The main question for number four Syracuse Women’s lacrosse was where would the extra offense come from. Well today in its 15-8 win over duke it came from three players who got on the score sheet for the first time this season. After the game head coach Kayla Treanor talked about just how important those goals were.

Yea so those three players. I mean Joley has seen more time now and I think she had a breakout game against Notre Dame and then just to see her follow it up today. Again I think she played really well. And then two of the other players that scored KC Benoit and Superia Clark they both came at a time we really needed it. Just big momentum plays two defenders you know stepping up, trusting themselves, going hard to the net it was great to see and like I said it really came at times we needed it. It just sparked and brought back our energy.

Now, while those goals are important you can’t score without the ball. And how do you get the ball, you win the draw control. And that is exactly what Kate Mashewske did for the Orange.

My teammates and coaches have the utmost belief and confidence in me. And my preparation kinda piggybacked off last week’s win against Notre Dame and just get back to the basics. And really dial it in and I think it showed today.

Syracuse stays a perfect 2-0 in the A-C-C. SU will come back to the JMA Wireless Dome on Tuesday when it hosts number 12 Stony Brook. Opening draw is set for 6pm. Reporting from inside the JMA Wireless Dome Rahill Jaiswal Citrus TV.
