Last weekend Syracuse women’s lacrosse was dominated in the opening frame by Northwestern. Well, fast forward the clock to today and it was the Orange’s turn to score. As Su outscored Army 8-2 in the first quarter en route to an 18-7 win over the Black Knights. After the game head coach Kayla Treanor talked about what exactly changed from last weekend.

“We talked about it before the game just playing with a sense of urgency right away in the first quarter ’cause we didn’t do that at Northwestern. I thought the girls did a really good job of that tonight. We had a great first quarter, probably the best of the game. It was a great response.”

“You know we got really dominated at Northwestern so for them and the whole team to just continue to grow and get better every game they definitely had a much better game. We won 16-11 in total. But I think this unit itself definitely responded.”

The Orange get back to .500 in the young season. However, from this point on the Schedule does not get any easier. Syracuse will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts number 9 Maryland. The opening draw is set for noon.
