Crunch Rally Back to Beat Thunderbirds 5-3

Calvin Christoforo: “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. And although things might not start off looking the cleanest, that can all be changed with one simple flip of a switch. That was the case when the Crunch fell behind the Thunderbirds 2-0 but rallied back to take down Springfield 5-3. Syracuse head coach Ben Groulx said he’s happy of this team’s efforts.”

Ben Groulx: “We showed a lot of character and we found a way to pull that one out. At one point you’re like ‘it doesn’t look good,’ but think we had a lot of character here tonight so it’s a good win.”

Alex Barre-Boulet: “We got a lot of character on that team, we got a lot of good players, we believe in ourselves, and right now we’re fighting for a playoff spot. Every win matters.”

Ben Groulx: “It was tough but we had to [win] and we found a way, so it’s a pretty good win.”

Calvin Christoforo: “The win improves the Crunch’s record to nine games over .500, and the victory is the sixteenth since February 12. Up next for Syracuse is a date with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton tomorrow night. Puck drop on the ice right behind me is set for 7. From the War Memorial, Calvin Christoforo, CitrusTV.”
