Dyaisha Fair Sets Her Syracuse Best in 75-63 Victory over BC

If you’re a fan of Syracuse hoops, you know the zone defense is a staple of the 3-1-5. Today, Boston College gave No. 21 SU a taste of its own medicine, holding the Orange to just 12 points in the second quarter. However, Dyaisha Fair threw that aside and took over in the second half, netting a season high 38 points in a 75-63 victory. Even with all the numbers, head coach Felisha Legette-Jack says it’s the character that stands out the most.

“She’s 5’4 and she’s the biggest kid on the court because she has the biggest heart and her intensity of purpose is paramount. I was just so amazed that I must have done something really special for God to choose me to be in this young lady’s life to witness what she’s capable of and we haven’t even seen nearly the ceiling yet, but it’s on its way.”

“She’s a phenomenal player, but we really did want to deny her the ball. We just had a hard time staying and denying her the ball and that’s what good players do. They go hunt the ball and they hunt their shots.”

It’s a big momentum win for the Orange, which snaps a two-game losing skid. Their largest in the last calendar year. Syracuse returns home on Thursday night for a battle with Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have gotten the better of the Orange in the last 5 matchups.
