Felipe D’Agostini Gets a Brace in Syracuse’s 2-0 Win Against Yale

Last year at Oral Roberts, Felipe D’Agostini scored a goal in more than half of the matches he appeared in so far at Syracuse in his first 12 games. The Brazilian scored just one, but today he flipped his season around with two goals within 2 minutes to propel Syracuse to a two-nil win over Yale.

“I think it was about time I get on the scoreboard and just get the momentum.” D’Agostini said after the game, “The team spirit has been very good and we were playing together collectively. So whenever the opportunity came to finish. I think whenever I scored the first one, I got the momentum going and the confidence came back and just got that shot and was released on my shoulders, I think I needed that. It needed this win as well. So that was good.”

“It’s nice.” Head Coach Ian McIntyre said after the match, “He’s got goals in him and I think for him to provide that quality tonight was very important for us.”

The brace tonight for D’Agostini was just the second time all season that a Syracuse player has scored two goals. Up next, the Orange have their final home match of the season on Sunday as they host N.C. State.
