Ice Hockey Remains Undefeated In 2022, Trounces Lindenwood 6-1
A physical Friday night at Tennity ended in a Lindenwood trouncing, as Syracuse lit up the scoreboard for a 6-1 victory. The Orange are now 5-0 in 2022, and Freshman Madison Primeau after the game talked about what’s been key to SU’s success in the new year.
“I think just our confidence, honestly. I mean, not that we lacked it last year. But, I think just finishing our plays, being aggressive, getting that energy up on the bench, and in the locker room — and just playing the game we’re capable of playing,” freshman Madison Primeau said.
“Our penalty kill has always been really good — we’re first in the CHA. We work on that throughout the week, and just remain composed, in our zone, and we try not to get panicked,” assistant captain Victoria Klimek said.
“Right now, we win every game and we’ll be back here at the end of February. We keep on saying that, but there’s one down,” head coach Paul Flanagan said.
Now, some milestones to keep track of — tonight Abby Moloughney earned her 97th and 98th career points. In addition, Jessica DiGirolamo set the SU record for most assists by a defenseman, and Arielle DeSmet recorded her first career assist tonight.
SU and Lindenwood back at Tennity tomorrow. Puck drops at 3PM.
