Michael Suski Shines in Syracuse Men’s Soccers 1-0 Win Over Colgate

In a season that’s 17 matches long. Sometimes you just need someone new to step up. Tonight it was the Boston College transfer Michael Suski in his first start of the season, a 1-0 win over Colgate. The forward recorded an assist and had a couple of really good chances. Suski says it’s all about just helping his team in whatever way possible.

“I mean, it felt great just to be out there with the team, give everything I could for the team.” Suski said,  “And it was something that was I was really hoping for. And it’s something that we work towards and I was glad to get on there and help in whatever.”
“And I thought, you know, that’s his most minutes of the year.” Head coach Ian McIntyre said, “I thought he had that quality, especially first half. I thought him and Edwards were terrific and create some overloads and look on another night. I think we could have just had a little bit more quality in the final third, but one goal was enough tonight.”
“We obviously have a target on our back.” Suski said, “I mean, as the reigning national champs, it’s something that everybody wants to beat us. So, like, even Colgate comes here and they want to beat us. They want to like they want to score a goal. They want to celebrate on our field. But we can’t let that happen today.”
As the season goes on, Syracuse will continue to have that target on its back. I know I say this every single week, but up next, the challenge gets even tougher. On Friday, the ‘Cuse take on the only remaining unbeaten team in the Atlantic Coast Conference in North Carolina. That match kicks off in Chapel Hill at 7:30.
