No. 5 Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse Defeats Louisville 22-12 on Senior Day

it was a happy and historic day for number five Syracuse women’s lacrosse as not only did SU trample Louisville 22-12
but graduate student Kate Mashewske tallied her 440th career draw control to break the all-time program record. However, after the game, Mashewske gave all the credit to her teammates.
“To hit that record this game at home, my last game in the Dome is special but I do I owe it all to my teammates. I mean Katie N Munch on the circle they’re unbelievable. A lot more goes into draw than just the actual draw like the boxing out really gives me time to you know get the ball out of the air so a lot of that
does… credit goes to them.”
“You know one of the things I love about Kate is just how much she cares about Syracuse Lacrosse and our success with the program and you know she’s just a really great leader. She’s a winner I mean that kid you know she wants to win. She wants
to be elite and she brings it all the time. I mean every practice every game she’s just a great competitor so I have a ton of respect for her and admiration and like I said I love getting to coach her because she has such an intensity about her and wants to be great and just being around somebody like that I know makes me a better Coach.”

The Orange are now a perfect 6 and 0 in ACC play. Next up for Syracuse is a non-conference road clash with Cornell on Tuesday. Opening draw is set for 3:00 p.m.
