No. 7 Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse destroys No. 9 UNC

The first time Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse and North Carolina squared off was all the way back in 2001. Over the next 20 years, SU’s largest margin of victory was 3 goals. Well, today take that three and multiply it by five. As the number seven Orange dominated the number nine Tar Heels 20-5. So the question begs, what exactly did SU do today?

“We have a lot of respect for their program. I think that’s why we had the performance we had today. I’m really proud like I said of our efforts today. I think top to bottom we played just tremendous. I think that was probably our best game of the season. I’m really proud of them and I think we’re heading in a really great direction”.

“I just think that it’s a great thing for us as we know like we have so many different goal scores on the team and we have so many different threats. So it’s kinda hard like if you’re trying to shut off some of us you can’t really do that cause there are just so many of us that are going to go to goal. So I just think it’s just a good way to show everyone else what we have.”

The 15-goal margin is the worst loss in program history for North Carolina. Over the last two games, SU has outscored its opponents by nearly 30 goals. The Orange look to keep the good times rolling and make it three straight victors on Tuesday when Syracuse hosts UAlbany. The opening draw is set for 3 pm.
