SU Tennis Can’t Match #2 NC State in Fourth Straight ACC Loss

Philip: “Sometimes, when you’re having a rough go of things, it’s best to take a step back, or even a seat. Maybe that’s what Syracuse Tennis will be doing this week following a six-one loss to NC State on Sunday. That duel marks the fourth in a row against a ranked opponent, with three of those coming against a top five squad in the nation. And Head Coach Younes Limam says there’s lessons to be learned.”

Limam: “Well I think we have to get a really good week of practice, work on the things we’ve noticed from the last two weeks. When you play these high-level teams, you see a lot of things, and hopefully we can get a couple of really good practices and get ready for Friday.”

Philip: “Now for the two points the Orange did win this weekend, they can thank Polina Kozyreva. The junior boasts an eleven-and-two record in singles play, and coach limam says she;’s grown a lot as a player this season.”

Limam: “She plays with a lot of determination and passion and grit, and usually when you do those things, you’re going to come on top a lot of the time. So winning two tough, competitive matches Friday and today hopefully will do a lot of good for her confidence for what’s coming ahead.”

Philip: “Next up for the orange is one of the two teams below them in the ACC standings. Tune in on Friday @CitrusTVSports for live updates courtside. Reporting from Drumlins, Philip Galati, CitrusTV.”
