SU Tennis Continues Conference Woes with Loss to Wake Forest

Philip: “Now, that was a pretty good serve. But you who serves even better? Wake Forest. They used their first serves to their advantage to take down the Orange inside Drumlins today, 6-1. AndHead Coach Younes Limam says if you can’t start the point, you can’t expect to win it.”

Limam:  “Doubles is about serves and returns, and I think credit to Wake Forest, they had a couple players that had big serves. Still, we have to do a better job with our energy from the get-go.”

Philip: “Now, out of four singles matches today that went to a tiebreak set, only one resulted in a point for the Orange. That was Polina Kozyreva on Court #2, the first point for SU in 19 matches. Coach Limam says she simply never gave up.”

Limam: “I love the fight. She was down in the set 5-3 and just coming back and forcing super tiebreaker, you just never know sometimes how a match is going to turn out, so you got to keep fighting and keep playing. Very proud of her.”

Philip: “So the Orange are 0-3 against ranked opponents, but the road ahead is an uphill battle, because on Sunday, NC State comes to Drumlins. Follow along @CitrusTVSports on Twitter from 11 am onwards for live updates from the dual. Reporting from Drumlins, Philip Galati, CitrusTV.”
