Syracuse Beats Miami in their First ACC Win since 2020
On a stormy day in Syracuse, the Miami Hurricanes came to town. But the Orange were able beat them 3-1 in their first ACC win since 2020. Head Coach Nicky Adams said this is a steppingstone for the program.
“I was really proud of our girl’s response. We started out with the No. 2 and No. 3 team in the nation and battled and did such a good job. I was interested how we were going to handle this. I was really proud of them. I thought our intensity was really good. I thought our halftime adjustments were executed,” said Adams.
Goal scorer Ashley Rauch also said this was a pivotal moment in this team’s season.
“Its awesome. We went 0-12 last year. We weren’t able to get that win. So getting that first win under our belts, especially after two tough losses where we’d played so well, is amazing. We all couldn’t be happier. We are going to celebrate and move on to the next one,” said Rauch.
That next game is on the road against Wake Forest on Sunday at 12 p.m.
