Syracuse Draws Boston College 1-1 In The Regular Season Finale
By Adam Gotkin | @Adam_Gotkin
During the final match of the regular season, Syracuse men’s soccer had one goal. Get momentum going into tournament play. As you drew back one one today. And while that result may not look too pretty, a draw against one of the worst teams in the conference. Head coach Ian McIntyre is still pleased considering the Orange is history here in Chestnut Hill.
“This is a really tough place to play.” McIntyre said, “I’m not sure you guys are smarter than me. The last time we came here and got a point so last last handful of times we’ve been on the wrong side. So pleased to get something out of this game. This is a tough turf field and you really need to kind of lay it all on the line. I thought we started the game really well. I think we were glad to get into halftime, kind of regroup a little bit. And then I thought a second half we were we were terrific and created some chances and half chances. And I thought we were going to find a way to get that second goal. But that’s the part of it. Now saying that to have a winning record in this league is is pretty impressive.”
The draw today was the fifth of ACC play. That’s a record for the most ever ties in conference in program history. Up next, though, it’s win or go home time. On Wednesday, the ACC tournament gets underway and Syracuse will host a first round match. However, the opponent is still yet to be determined, but for now.
