Syracuse Men’s Soccer Draws NC State 1-1 in a Downpour

There’s a saying in soccer that goes, but can you do it on a cold, rainy day in Stoke? Today that translated to Can you do it on a cold, rainy day in Syracuse? And the answer for the orange was, well, no. So you drew NC State one one today and the Cuse had opportunity after opportunity in the final couple minutes, but just couldn’t get the ball into the back of the net.

“Last 23 minutes we threw everything, got a number of corner kicks, both in the box and just just lacked a little bit.” Head coach Ian McIntyre said, “You know, look, we got a bit of luck with the young goal and we could have done with just a little bit of quality to finish it off.”
“We didn’t lose. That’s a start.’ Lorenzo Boselli said, “And then in the last probably 10 minutes, I think it had something like 89 shots. I feel like it’s just a period of time where we are struggling to find the back of the net and it’s going to come eventually. We just have to keep working and keep creating chances. And again, it’s going to come eventually.”
The scary thing for Syracuse fans, though, is that the Orange don’t have much time to get things right. Today was senior day marking the final home game of the regular season. I see you does have one more game in the regular season though. Before postseason play on Friday, The Cuse travel to Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College. Reporting from the SU soccer stadium, Adam Gotkin, citrus TV.
