Syracuse Offense Leads Charge in a 3-2 Victory over RPI

When you’re in an offensive slump, you change your shoes, your game-day routine, or anything that can help you fix your fortune. In Syracuse’s case, it was dawning the new home white jerseys in a 3-2 victory over RPI tonight. Last weekend, the Orange only mustered one goal in the two games, but in this home-and-home series, the energy completely shifted, plotting five goals against the Engineers to split the home-and-home series.

“I think we’re becoming a little bit more comfortable in our systems. We saw today some lines really start to connect, which is something we’ve been talking about and needing to see. So, again, this time of the year is about getting better every week and I think offensively we definitely did that this weekend. And, again, as the game went on our confidence grew and our bench got more energy and more excitement and that’s something we’ll look to carry into next week for sure.”

“I think after yesterday we had our chances, but today we capitalized and our mentality was to just get a lot of shots on net and hope for the best and we got a couple of goals from that.”

Tonight, it was three different goal scores for Syracuse. All of them being grad students: Johal, Rachel Teslak, and Kate Holmes found the back of the net. The Orange matched their highest total tally of the season while erasing a three-game losing streak. SU looks to keep the good times rolling when they visit Cornell on Tuesday. That game is set for a 7:00 o’clock start.
