Syracuse Tennis Bests Boston College in First ACC Bout of the Season

For Syracuse Tennis, Boston College is a familiar foe. From the Big East to the ACC, the Orange and the Eagles have squared off 40 times heading into today. SU won the last 5 meetings between the two programs, and the win streak just grew to six with a 5-2 win over BC. It was a rocky start for Syracuse. The Orange lost the doubles point for the first time all year, but the team never gave up. SU went on to win five out of six singles matches and head coach Younes Limam said all the credit goes to his players.

“In singles, it helps that eh… we joke with our team that doubles is a sprint and singles is a marathon so they showed up and were ready to go and we were a little bit tentative in doubles. I thought that we started to find our rhythm in singles, so it was really good.”

“We know that the ACC is one of, if not the best conference in women’s tennis and we are excited for the challenge I think it’s huge for their confidence and I think they were looking forward to their first ACC match and seeing how we match up and I couldn’t be prouder.”

It’s a full weekend of tennis for Syracuse. After the win today, SU welcomes another New England school in UMass tomorrow at 11. The Minutewomen come in at 4-1 on the season.
