Syracuse Tennis Caps Off Weekend With 5-2 Win Over Virginia Tech

Zeynep Erman had to retire her from her match but in the end, it didn’t matter as Syracuse cruised to a 5-2 victory over Virginia Tech. Following the match, Head Coach Younes Limam talked about how the depth of his team led to the comfortable win.

“What’s special about this team is we don’t know who is going to step up and when. I think you guys have seen that. For example, Miyuka [Kimoto] has been struggling a little bit in singles and today she delivered the performance that she did. I think Polina [Kozyreva] played unbelievable with Miyuka. That’s great news. We know that we are a deep team and that we are going to give it our best. What we don’t know is who is going to clinch and deliver for the team,” said Limam.

In the fifth conference match of the season, this marked the first one in which Syracuse never trailed. With the win, the Orange improved to 11-1. After the busiest weekend of the season, Syracuse gets a much needed break. Looking ahead, SU says goodbye to Drumlins when it goes outside to sunny Clemson, South Carolina. The Orange take on the Tigers on Friday, March 17th at 3 p.m.
