Syracuse Tennis Falls to Georgia Tech for first ACC Loss of Season

They say revenge is a dish best served cold. After Syracuse lost 4-0 in the ACC tournament last season to Georgia Tech, all it wanted was a chance at redemption. Today, the Orange had that opportunity but left their main dish… a little overcooked. GT beat SU 4-3 to hand Syracuse its first conference loss of the season. In a competitive match like this, the Orange had all the opportunities to take control, but they just couldn’t close. Afterwards head coach Younes Limam said sometimes, the ball just doesn’t bounce your way.
“Credit to some of those players from Georgia Tech. I mean somebody like the player who played Anastasia, I think in those big moments Anastasia played the right way, it’s just her opponent came up with the deuce and sometimes we just gotta say ‘too good’ and move on to the next play.”
“I mean I think that’s one of the hardest things in sports is kind of like putting your opponent away. I mean we talk a lot about how singles is a marathon so you have the momentum sometimes, maybe we need to realize that and put our foot on the gas a little bit harder and a little bit longer.”
It’s going to be 11 days before Syracuse returns to Drumlins but that doesn’t mean they have a vacation. SU is back in action on Friday when it takes on Duke down In North Carolina. The Blue Devils are a perfect 13-0 all-time against the Orange. Match Time in Durham is set for 3.
