Syracuse Tennis Improves to 4-0 for the Third Time in Five Seasons

Syracuse Tennis has been off to a historic start this season. Not one, not two, not three, but four beatdowns to begin the campaign. Today’s Victim? Cornell, in a 6-1 Orange thrashing over the Big Red. While the final score may have seemed lopsided, to everybody here at Drumlins, it was a lot closer than that. Doubles 1 and Doubles 2 were both pushed to a seventh game, but SU still found a way to get the job done. After the match, Head Coach Younes Limam said that he was proud of the way his team performed under pressure.

“I thought we had moments where things were very close and I couldn’t be prouder of how calm we stayed and just kind of played that next point. I think that’s something that we talk a lot about is “how will we respond?” when our backs are against the way and I think our team did a tremendous job with that.”

“So we had a good start for one but the opponent came back and we knew that we stayed positive all the time and we stayed focused until the end and we had good communication with each other so it works.”

After an undefeated home stand, the Orange finally hit the road, and what better place to go than the Big Apple? Syracuse takes on a 3-1 Columbia squad next Sunday at 11.
