Syracuse Tennis Overcomes Boston College 4-3 in ACC Opener

In the A.C.C. opener, Syracuse came out on top after a grueling 3-plus hour dual over Boston College by a final score of 4-3. In what was the tightest dual of the season thus far, resilience was a common theme throughout the evening. After the match, Head Coach Younes Limam had plenty of praise for his team’s comeback effort.

“Really proud of the team. Every single one of them. Zeynep [Erman] and Miyuka [Kimoto] battling and taking pressure off Ines [Fonte] before she finished her match. [It was] a tremendous team effort. I think a match like this, a year ago, we would have lost it, quite honestly. I think we’re playing with a lot of confidence. I think there are still things that we need to get better at in doubles and singles. [There are] a few things that we’ll work on those things starting early next week,” said Limam.

After losing the doubles point to start the dual, Syracuse fought back hard in singles to remain undefeated on the season, improving to 7-0. The Orange look to keep that unbeaten record intact when they return back to the 3-1-5 for a five-match homestand, which will begin Friday at 3 p.m. against Florida State.
