Syracuse volleyball defeated Cornell 3-1 to pick up its first win of the season. The Orange had all the cards stacked against them. They faced a roster nearly double their size, in a gym with no A/C, but that didn’t matter.
After the match head coach Bakeer Ganasharatnam said that he was proud of the improvements his team showed.
“Even though we had never won a match or even a set coming into today I felt like we were on the right path. We were so close last weekend. I am really happy for our players that we were able to get over the hump.”
Syracuse got big production from Antonio Cherlin who had 18 kills and Zharia Harris-Waddy who had eight kills and six aces.
SU will look to improve on this performance when it takes on Colgate next week.
