Syracuse Wins Thriller In First Game With Students In Over A Month

Today’s game marked the first since December 5 against Cornell with students back on campus. Whether they were sitting in the third row or the very top row of Section 303, they were treated to a thriller. Quadir Copeland nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer to send Syracuse home with a 72-69 victory over Miami.

“They did their part,” Copeland remarked. “A lot of love goes to them, you know, because if you look at the game, our game wasn’t going as well, but I still have fans in the crowd telling me ‘pick your head up Cope, you good’, talking to me, little stuff like that helps a lot, comes a long way, especially when it’s your fans, people that actually care about you.”

“We always have a great crowd,” junior forward Benny Williams stated. “They showed up, they showed out, hopefully they come to the next game too.”

“It was amazing,” Head Coach Adrian Autry said. “We need our students to come out, we got the best venue in the country and they were there today, all the guys felt it, our guys were excited to play in front of their students, being home and being back with the students, they did an amazing job. When they come in, they make their presence known, and that’s an advantage, we need that.

Well, they may not be as dramatic as today’s game, but Otto’s Army has seven more chances to see Syracuse Men’s Basketball this season. The first of them comes Tuesday when Florida State comes to town- tip in that one is scheduled for 7 pm.
