Syracuse Women’s Basketball Improves to 2-0 After Win vs. Central Connecticut State

The circumference of the rim on a basketball hoop is 56 inches, but Friday night, Syracuse was seeing triple. SU defeated Central Connecticut State 101-53 behind 28 points from Dyaisha Fair. However, after the game, she says it’s just another day at the office.

“I’m trying to keep the same mentality or one mentality,” Fair said. “My staff does a good job of reminding me what I’m capable of doing and it’s also me trying to keep in mind what I’m able to do as well. So it’s just me trying to maintain that one mentality.”

“She got that charge,” said Coach Legette-Jack. “When she got that charge, she hit that 40-footer jump shot and they called a timeout. She was pissed coming off the court and I just looked at her and said ‘stay mad for the rest of the game’ because in order to really respect the game, you got to play with a vigor that people say ‘you know I played somebody today that I don’t ever see her against me. I’d rather be on her team.’ That’s what I’m trying to get her to understand. She’s just a nice young lady, but I need her to get that eye of the tiger.”

Syracuse moves to 2-0 after a win versus Central Connecticut State. SU gets four days off and then they’re back in action versus Coppin State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the JMA Wireless Dome.
