Syracuse women’s ice hockey pulled out the win over Robert Morris this afternoon. 2-1 was the final and the reason for the low-scoring affair was the play between the pipes. As SU Goaltender Allie Kelly stopped 26 of 27 shots and helped her team secure the win on home ice. But that wasn’t all for the grad student as Kelly made her 947th save of the campaign the most in a single season in Syracuse history. When asked about it after the game Kelly just didn’t have much to say.

“Honestly I’m just happy we got the win on home ice,” Kelly said. “It’s been a while.”

“Yeah a little different game for her, not as many pucks as she’s used to, especially in that second period so that’s a whole different challenge,” said Head Coach Britni Smith. “I thought shit did a really good job the save late in the game there to really win it, seal the deal for us. That’s her game so you know her getting that record today is very deserving. There’s a lot of hockey left to play this year so she will only continue to set herself apart now.”

The home victory marks the first since mid-October for the Orange. Syracuse hopes to ride the momentum into Missouri when they take on Lindenwood on Friday. Puck Drop is at 7.
