It was a special night at SU Soccer stadium tonight as Syracuse got a 2-1 win over Merrimack. The most special part of the evening was the Senior Night celebration, which included senior Chelsea Domond scoring the game winning goal.

Coach Nicky Adams is happy with Domond’s recent form.

“It’s been a great weekend for Chelsea. She put up to quality goals at Eastern Michigan and then to get that goal, you saw how excited she was. Two games in a row is pretty incredible for her. And we obviously celebrated our four seniors who have contributed so much,” said Adams.

After the Domond goal, Merrimack scored in the 60th minute, but SU stayed calm, limiting any opportunities for the Warriors. The player of the match, Koby Commandant said their team is built to hold on.

“If we get scored on, we get our body language up and positive. We always try to stay positive. I think when we got scored on, we we’re just kind’ve like ‘This can’t happen, we can’t lose.’ We had that competitive mentality.”

Next up, the Orange will travel right down the road to Binghamton for a local rivalry game on Thursday night.
