Trends tend to stay true, and four-straight losses to Georgia Tech turned into five for the Syracuse Women’s Basketball Team, falling 69-57 on the road Thursday night.

The Orange trailed at the end of the first half despite shooting better than the Yellow Jackets, scoring the same number of points in the paint, playing better transition offense, and turning the ball over less. All G.T. did throughout the first 20 minutes was nab five more rebounds than S.U. Additionally, Georgia Tech grabbed seven offensive boards in the first half to trump Syracuse’s three.

S.U.’s shooting performance marked as its third-worst of the year, hitting just 34.3% of their shots from the floor.

The main bright side of the embarrassing loss rests with forward Dariauna Lewis’s strong performance earned her yet another double-double, her eighth of the season. The Alabama A&M-transfer recorded 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Lewis has been the most consistent member of the Orange with 9.8 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game.

S.U. experienced a small scare in the first half when guard Dyaisha Fair’s head collided with the shoulder of a G.T. opponent. The Buffalo-transfer underwent inspection from the team trainer, and later returned to the game.

Fair led the entire game in scoring with 17 points, and that makes 12 games in which she’s outscored everyone else on the court, 14 times that she’s led the Orange.

Next up is another road affair on Sunday at 12 p.m. against No. 13 Duke.
