Quiet Day for SU Track and Field in Day 2 of the Raleigh Relays

Day two of the Raleigh Relays for the Orange started early Friday morning. The Orange had six athletes compete on Friday at the Relays. The first competitions started early in the morning and it was a beautiful day in Raleigh with a high of 68 degrees. Most of the outcomes were not the best for the Orange but some did put up some pretty good numbers.
To start off for the women’s competitions for the Orange, sophomore Emma Eastman finished 38th in the 5000m finals with a time of 17:21.13. Eastman ran the 5000m at the relays last year and finished with a slightly better time of 17:18.90 but finished in 54th place. Moving on to the women’s 1500m competition freshman Sage Brooks placed 91st with a time of 4:31. 84.
For the men’s competitions the Orange had four athletes compete in the 10k relay. Sam Lawler, Alex Comerford, Noah Beveridge and Ethan Wechsler all competed for the Orange. Sam Lawler, who was the anchor for the Orange finished in 41st place with a time of 29:32.41. The orange look on to day three of the relays which start at 9:45 am with the men’s hammer competition.
