The final road trip for Syracuse Tennis ends with four straight losses. After losing 5-2 and 6-1 to Virginia and Virginia Tech respectively, SU dropped two more with 7-0 and 6-1 losses to Florida St. and #21 Miami this weekend. Today against Miami, the Orange just couldn’t find a groove.

The Doubles point was won by the Hurricanes in #2 and #3 doubles by Leonie Schuknecht & Antonia Balzert and Audrey Boch-Collins & Alexa Noe. Schuknecht and Balzert won 6-3 while Boch Collins and Noe were victorious 6-2. The third doubles match was played out, which had Xinyi Nong & Isabella Pfennig on the winning side 6-4.

On the singles side of the match, there was virtually no drama. 4/6 matches were decided in straight sets. By the time the other two began the third set tiebreaker, the match was already decided in favor of the ‘Canes. After playing in doubles earlier in the match, junior Miyuka Kimoto had the day off for singles. Replacing her was senior Ines Fonte, who filled out the 6th spot in singles. The lone win in singles for SU was by sophomore Anastasia Sysoeva. The Florida transfer won 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.

Next up for Syracuse is a trip back home to close out the regular season. SU welcomes Notre Dame Friday at 3, and follows it up with the regular-season finale Sunday at 11 against Louisville.
