Syracuse Volleyball fell 3-0 to No. 9 Georgia Tech in its final road trip of the 2023 season. The Orange now fall to 2-25 and 0-17 in ACC play.

Georgia Tech started the match quickly. The Yellow Jackets got up an early 4-0 thanks to good serving. That start was all Georgia Tech needed. The No. 9 team in the country would expand the lead as the set wore on. Before SU could look, they found themselves in a 10-point hole. The Yellow Jackets did not waste any time as they closed out the set 25-12. Throughout the first Georgia Tech did a great job of staying in the system. The Yellow Jackets posted 11 kills compared to only three errors.

Set two was no different. The Orange started the set down 7-3. However, around the halfway point Syracuse found its groove. SU would go on a 3-0 run to cut the lead to four. A few points later The Orange went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to three. This was one of the only times Syracuse was able to force Georgia Tech to make errors. However, the Yellow Jackets kept their composure. The home team finished the set on a 7-2 run to grab a two-set lead.

The third set was the best one for Syracuse. The Orange managed to split the first 14 points. Syracuse even managed to hang with Georgia Tech until the halfway point. However, similar to what has happened all season Syracuse couldn’t keep its great form over the entire set. From 11-10, the Yellow Jackets finished the match on a 13-2 run to complete the sweep.

Syracuse will have one more chance to get an ACC win this year. SU will host No. 7 Pittsburgh back home on Friday.
