Syracuse Volleyball Falls to Miami in Straight Sets

Syracuse Volleyball fell 3-0 to Miami on the road on Friday night. SU now sits at 2-17 on the season and 0-9 in the ACC.

The Orange started slow once again falling behind 4-0. From there, the Hurricanes never looked back, winning the first set 25-13. SU struggled, putting up a kill percentage of 23.8%.

Syracuse started the second set better, splitting the first 12 points. However, from that point on it was all Miami. The Hurricanes would go on a 13-3 scoring run to go up 19-9. Miami played another clean set, only posting four points. The Hurricanes would go on to win the second set 25-15.

Set 3, was the best set for both teams. Both sides would post their best kill percentage and error-to-kill ratio. However, it was still all Miami. The Hurricanes got up early and never looked back. Miami would close out the match winning the third set 25-15.

Throughout the match, SU consistently struggled on offense. No player on Syracuse’s roster tailed double-digit kills or points. Meanwhile, Miami’s Flormarie Heredia Colon posted 11 kills on 20 attempts.

Syracuse will be back in action on Sunday against Florida State. First serve is set for noon.
