Syracuse falls to Louisville in ACC opener

Syracuse fell 3-0 to number 5 Louisville on the road in its first ACC matchup of the season. The Cardinals dominated from start to finish.
Louisville started fast jumping out to a quick five-point lead. From there, the Cardinals never looked back. Louisville was efficient and ruthless on offense posting a 71% kill percentage in the opening set. The Cardinals swiftly took set 1 25-15.
The second set was no different. Louisville got out to a fast start and never let Syracuse get any rhythm. The Cardinals only committed two errors and in the blink of an eye, Syracuse found themselves 2 sets down.
Set three was no different. Louisville rushed to an 11-2 lead and didn’t let off the gas. The Cardinals would complete the sweep with a 25-8 third set.
Throughout the match, the Cardinals never gave Syracuse a chance to get going. Louisville finished the match with 38 kills and only five errors. The Cardinals also managed to post a kill percentage above 50. On the complete opposite side, Syracuse finished the match with 20 kills and 25 errors. The Orange only managed to muster up a kill percentage of just over 22%,
Syracuse falls to 2-9 on the season and 0-1 in ACC play. They will look to rebound on Sunday on the road against Notre Dame. First serve is set for Noon.
